JOHN Lewis at Home at Mannington Retail Park has donated £3,000 to three local organisations as part of its Community Matters charitable giving scheme.

Every three months Community Matters enables the store to vote on how they would like to split a £3,000 donation between three local community organisations.

The local organisations that were awarded cheques this quarter were Uplands Educational Trust, which provides education and learning opportunities for young people with special needs; Swindon Therapy Centre for MS, which provides a calm environment where chronic neurological conditions are managed; and the Jubilee Gardens Project, which provides education and training for adults who because of varying degrees of mental and physical disability experience learning difficulties.

Alison Gilbert, branch manager at John Lewis at Home Swindon, said: “We are so pleased to be able to support these very worthy causes and the extraordinary contribution they make to people and families in the Swindon area.

“Many people have been affected by these issues, so it is great for us to be able to support charities which can touch the lives of people in the local and surrounding area.”
