SWINDON’S favourite paperboys – and girls – won an early Christmas present after residents on their round voted for them.

Emma Johnson, Tyler Thelwall and John Beasley each won 100 per cent of the votes for their round.

There were three separate categories to vote for and each winner was awarded £100 Argos vouchers by the Adver.

John Beasley, 17, lives in Greenmeadow, where he does his round.

The New College student was delighted to have won his prize.

He said: “It’s incredible and I’m very grateful for the people on my round who voted for me.

“I like to get to know the people and it’s great to have chats with them from time to time, and it’s a really good experience.

“I might use the money on a new iPod or mobile phone but I’m not quite sure.”

Sixteen-year-old Emma Johnson, from Lechlade, was beaming with pride.

She said: “I was surprised when I found out I had won.

“I will use the money to buy hair straighteners and curlers.

“A big thank you to everyone who voted for me.”

And 15-year-old Tyler Thelwall from Walcot, who attends Churchfields Academy, plans to spend his cash on a new set of ear phones for his Xbox.

He said: “I was surprised to win because I don’t really win much. I think I won it because people said I was polite and well mannered and I was always on time.”
