NEW COLLEGE has reached a landmark fundraising total of more than £20,000 for Prospect Hospice.

Students and staff at the college in Queen’s Drive have raised a £23,675 for the Wroughton hospice.

The money has been raised through theatre trips, raffles, lottery tickets, and The Big Christmas Card, all of which will go towards supporting the hospice.

Prospect Hospice’s head of fundraising Sheryl Crouch said: “We are really thrilled that our friends at New College have supported us so generously not just this year, but over many years.

“The great thing is the way in which everyone at New College seems to get involved in a whole range of activities, and 2013 has been no exception.

“Our sincere thanks go out to the staff and students at New College.”

Staff and students presented the cheque to Prospect Hospice in their Christmas Jumpers, to celebrate their fundraising work throughout the year.

New College Principal Graham Taylor said: “We are so pleased with the amount of money raised for Prospect Hospice.

“I would like to thank staff and students for their hard work over the years and for their donations.

“We hope it helps makes a difference and we will continue to support local charities in the future.”
