A 91-year-old man from Swindon who died on Saturday after being hit by a car last week has been named as Ronald Ernest Stannard.
The collision happened at a light controlled pedestrian crossing on Queens Drive near the junction with Windsor Road shortly after 9.15am last Monday, December 16.
A light blue Ford Focus collided with Ronald, who was from the Park South area of the town. As a result he was taken to the Great Western Hospital (GWH) with serious head injuries but could not recover and died on Saturday afternoon.
The driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured in the collision.
The road was closed for a total of four hours while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) at Wiltshire Police conducted their enquiries.
Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the police are asked to contact PC 122 Kevin Fry of the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Devizes Police Headquarters on 101.
