Firefighters are pumping water out of houses in Dauntsey following last night’s stormy weather.
Chris Harvey, Wiltshire fire and rescue watch manager at Malmesbury station, said his crews had been out in the village since 7am and Sodom Lane was completely flooded.
He said: “All the properties around here are flooded. “Some of the properties have got a good six to 12 inches of water in them and we’re trying to maintain the water levels so that it doesn’t spread.
“We have water flowing off the fields that’s been rising and threatening other properties. We’re currently pumping water away at the moment.
“A lot of them are used to it because they have been flooded before but it’s not great for them when they are expecting relatives around for Christmas.
“They are all good spirited and helping each other where they can.”
The road between Little Somerford and Dauntsey is also believed to be flooded.
