ANTIQUES expert Thomas Plant is visiting Swindon on Saturday, January 11 to offer residents a free evaluation on their hidden treasures.

The BBC Antiques Road Trip regular and expert on Bargain Hunt and Flog It! will be on hand from 10am to 1pm at the Jury’s Inn to value their antiques.

He said: “This is an opportunity for anyone to come along and find out more about that item in the cupboard, bottom drawer or attic.

“Come along, meet me and my team and find out more about your stuff.”

A specialist in valuing jewellery, militaria and toys, at 2pm Thomas will also be delivering a talk on the business in aid of Prospect Hospice, where he will share his experiences of taking part in antiques series which regularly attract audiences of several million viewers.

Peter Rudge, area manager for Jury’s Inn, said: “We’re thrilled Thomas has chosen our hotel as the venue for his events and we’re supporting him in his efforts to raise cash for a well-loved local charity.”

The talk is a ticket-only event with tickets costing £5 each, which will then be donated to Prospect Hospice.
