LEARNING Curve Day Nursery celebrated 10 years since opening its doors on Friday with the people who have helped the business get to where it is today.

The nursery, in Brinkworth Road, Royal Wootton Bassett, started off with only four young children in 2004, and now, ten years on, welcomes around 75 youngsters every day from as far away as Chippenham and Cirencester.

Alan Butler, who owns the nursery with his wife Naida Malik, was pleased to have reached the milestone.

He said: “When you start a business you never know where you are going to be in ten year’s time.

“We have become quite an established part of the community in Wootton Bassett and we take children from Swindon, Marlborough, Cirencester and Chippenham.

“We’re very pleased and we hope to continue with what we are doing for another ten years.”

The celebrations on Friday welcomed many people who have been involved in the nursery over the past ten years, including the architect, a builder, parents, staff members and the Chairman of CALM, which the nursery fundaise for.

There were also members of the Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council present as well as local Mayor, councillor Linda Frost.

As well canapes and hors d’ouvres from a buffet, guests also enjoyed a birthday cake made into the shape of the nursery building.

“We had a big party in November last year for the children, where there was cake and jelly, but this time we really wanted to thank the people who have been involved in the nursery either from the outset or the duration, said Alan”

The children also helped to welcome the guests by making the decorations and a big birthday cake in the nursery’s colours of yellow and blue.
