RESIDENTS can now sign up to take part in a fun run put on for World Rotary day by the rotary clubs of Swindon Phoenix, Royal Wootton Bassett and District and Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

The run will take place on February 23 at Lydiard Park and proceeds will go towards Polio Eradication.

Dave Fenwick, President of Royal Wootton Bassett and District said: “Since 1988, in partnership with the World Health Organisation and The Gates Foundation, Rotary has supported this dedicated programme of education and vaccination which has enabled the worldwide immunisation of 2.5 billion children against the crippling and often fatal poliomyelitis virus.”

The event, which is open to competitive runners, young children and families, involves a 5km run and starts at 11am.
