John Matthew Charles Young, of Lilac Court, Swindon, has walked free from court after admitting two theft offences and using insulting or threatening words in public.
Swindon magistrates handed the 33-year-old an 18-week jail sentence suspended for two years for offences including stealing meat and cheese worth £90 from the Cooperative store in Groundwell Road in August last year and stealing £20 in confectionery and food from the 99p Store on December 9. He was also ordered to pay £185 in court costs and a £150 fine for the threatening behaviour.
