DIABETES UK is seeking a volunteer to inspire innovation in the local support available for the thousands of people affected by Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in Swindon and Wiltshire.

The charity is looking for applicants for a new voluntary role to work with Diabetes UK local groups. Education, information, fundraising, peer support, awareness raising, campaigning and prevention work are all major aspects of local group activity.

The new Local Groups Support Volunteer will work with local groups, helping them plan their futures to support more people affected by the condition.

In Swindon there are more than 11,000 people affected by diabetes, while in Wiltshire more than 26,000 people are affected by the condition.
