A TEENAGER charged with armed robbery following an incident at a Calne petrol station last year has admitted his involvement in the crime.

Dylan Gaffey, 18, of Cloatley Crescent, Royal Wootton Bassett, pleaded guilty to robbery at the Murco petrol station in Oxford Road at 9.30pm on August 27 when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court today.

Another 18-year-old, Ryan Mills, of Broken Cross, Calne, has also been charged in connection with the incident.

He appeared alongside Gaffey at court today, but did not enter a plea .

Judge Douglas field said if Mills wanted to plead not guilty he will have to enter this before a case management hearing on April 4.

He said: "If he pleads not guilty he will have to lodge a defence statement before that. His co-defendant entered a plea of guilty and I have instructed that he's going to get full credit for his early guilty plea."

Both teenagers have been released on conditional bail and are forbidden from contacting each other, as well as Leah Gray and Kelly Games who could be called as crown court witnesses.

Gaffey is not allowed to enter Calne and is subject to a doorstep curfew from 8pm to 6am at his address in Cloatley Crescent.

He has been ordered to cooperate fully with probabation.

Mills has been placed on electronic curfew and must stay at his address in Broken Cross from 9pm to 6am every day.
