FUNDRAISING campaigners took a step closer to raising money needed to repay a loan which saved a cherished woodland from potential development.
On Saturday the group organised A Mile of Money, which was an attempt to raise enough money to lay it flat and reach a mile in distance from Ellendune Community Centre to Willow Brook Gardens.
The volunteers raised £1,868 and almost reached three-quarters of a mile.
A campaign to safeguard Wroughton’s nature reserve has come on in leaps and bounds since the start of the year with nearly £3,000 raised in less than three weeks.
