THE clerk to the parish council of Stratton St Margaret, Paul Russell, has left the council by mutual agreement following a two month leave of absence.
During a full council meeting on Tuesday(jan28) Chair of the Parish Council, John Foley, said: “Paul Russell has left the employ of this council by mutual consent and moved on to pastures new and I am sure everyone in the council wishes him the best with his new endeavours.”
Paul Russell officially left the council on January 10 after taking two and a half months special leave.
The Deputy Clerk also left the council at the same time.
Paul Russell was unavailable for comment.
In the mean time the council has appointed a locum clerk, Tracy Predeth, whose first job will be to advertise the position.
Councillor Nigel Chalk has taken on the position of responsible finance officer for the council until such a time as the clerk’s position has been filled.
