SWINDON Guide Dogs is recruiting for puppy walkers and boarders at a special event on February 22.
From 10am to 4pm people are invited along to the West Swindon Centre, in Tewkesbury Way, to find out how they can help.
The charity is looking for people to provide full-time care and education for puppies aged from seven weeks of age until they are between 12 and 14 months old.
Puppy walkers will have to keep the puppy in their own home, and return the puppy to the charity when they are older so they can begin their formal guide dog training.
The charity is also looking for boarders, who can provide a temporary home to dogs doing advanced training in their area.
The arrangement is perfect for those who would like to care for a dog but who do not want full-time responsibility.
The volunteer must feed, groom and follow guidelines for looking after the dog, and be able to provide a safe and secure enclosed garden.
Visitors to the drop-in session on February 22 will have an opportunity to meet some of the guide dog puppies and working guide dogs, And they will have the chance to speak to some of the volunteers
