CHILDREN will be in for a treat at the Steam Museum this half-term.

Young visitors can board the legendary No. 4003 Lode Star locomotive, take the controls of the museum’s train simulator and test their skills in an authentic signal box.

Steam’s reconstructed Seaside Pier will also offer non-stop interactive fun with working vintage slot machines while younger children will be invited to get busy at the colouring tables.

Activities will include the popular Smiley Cats Club on February 19 and 20, between 9.30am and 1pm, where children over five can make masks and creations inspired by Narnia, followed by a supervised tour of the museum.

The museum will also offer visitors the chance to follow the brand new Alphabet Challenge trail.

Steam is open every day between 10am and 5pm, with the last admission at 4pm.

Standard admission is £8 for adults, £6 for children under 16 and students and £6.50 for seniors, with family tickets and season tickets available.
