Swindon Advertiser: A gang caught on CCTV trying door handles of parked cars while owners slept A gang caught on CCTV trying door handles of parked cars while owners slept

THIEVES have been out trying door handles in North Swindon again this week - CCTV caught pictures of six males in hoodies testing doors - in this instance the vehicle was locked and the group moved on empty handed.

Officers have had reports of thefts from six vehicles this week - where the offenders have taken sat navs, a DVD player, an iPod shuffle, money, a gym bag of clothes and even some juice boxes.

A police spokesman said: “Please remember to take all items out of your vehicle so there is nothing to tempt a thief, and get in the habit of trying the door handle to make sure it's locked before you leave.

“If you have any information which could help us catch these offenders please call us on 101, or 999 if you see a crime in progress.”

No-one was caught. CCTV simply photographed criminals. That's all it ever does. Nothing will come of it.
