A 53-year-old man who is accused of stealing a mobility scooter is to face trial.
Christopher Kopijka pleaded not guilty to taking the vehicle belonging to 84-year-old stroke victim Geoffrey Francis on September 6 last year.
He will now face a trial but because he and the complainant both have disabilities the case will be transferred to Salisbury.
A judge at Swindon Crown Court said it was the nearest place with flat access for both men, who each need mobility scooters to get around.
Recorder James Watson QC adjourned the case to Monday, October 13 and released Kopijka, of Welcombe Avenue, on unconditional bail until then.
