Police warning after girl is shot with BB gun

Swindon Advertiser: Police warning after girl is shot with BB gun Police warning after girl is shot with BB gun

A 13 year old boy has been reprimanded by police after he shot at a girl with a BB gun at the weekend.

The girl was hit close to her eye while she was in Green Park near Torun Way, Haydon End.

A North Swindon Police spokesman said: "We would appeal to parents and carers who allow children to have these toys to make them aware of the potential dangers, and ensure they do not fire them in public places."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Did the Police really have to attend to this? Was it a real BB gun that puts holes through glass or some toy gun purchased at Toys R Us?

The age old lecture about shooting someone's eyes out would have done the same thing. What were the parents doing about this? The shooter's parents should have given their kid the warning not the Sweeney.

Another 'Crime' solved for the stats.

You are assuming the parents actually care or are even there! Too many "parents" bleat on about their rights but far too many have no intention of living up to the responsibilities that go with the rights!

Perhaps the police giving them a telling off will make them think twice about doing such a thing again. Those BB pellets really hurt and the girl was lucky it wasn't a case of losing her eye!

Yeah, probably best to just let 13 year olds walk around firing BB guns at other children.

13. He's hardly unaware of what he's doing.
