PROSECUTORS have dropped the case against a woman who was charged with going to a dogging site with a child.

Louise Jones, whose husband Michael Gwyther was jailed for life in 2012 for a series of sex offences, was due to face trial on the matter.

But before a jury could be sworn in at Swindon Crown Court prosecutors offered no evidence against the 41-year-old and the judge returned a formal not guilty verdict.

Jones, of White Horse Road, Cricklade, had always maintained she was also a victim of her deviant husband who abused three young girls, one from the age of just 12.

She was accused of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 16 in 2011.

Gwyther of Haywards Place, Easterton, was jailed for public protection in 2012 and cannot seek parole until 2018.

He admitted six rapes, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of sexual activity with a child and three of making an indecent photo of a child.

He was caught after the mum of one victim saw messages from him on her daughter’s computer.

Three girls came forward to say they had been abused.

He allegedly took one girl to a dogging site, where strangers have sex with each other, and Jones was said to have joined them once.
