A COMMUNITY litter pick will be held ths weekend in East Wichel Residents will be joined by prospective council candidate for Old Town Coun Claire Ellis, MP Robert Buckland, pictured, MEP Julie Girling and ward councillors Brian Mattock and Rod Bluh.

Coun Ellis, whocurrently represents Haydon Wick, said: “Through visiting residents, a common concern is litter, so we thought we would support the litter picking team. “Waitrose were also very keen to be a part of the event as they will be opening their Wichelstowe supermarket in April.” Mr Buckland said: “This event is an excellent way to bring the community together. “I am delighted Waitrose is providing refreshments for the volunteers and that Swindon’s 3rd Scout and Beavers Groups are coming too.”

The litter pick takes place tomorrow from 11am to 1pm.
