THE ELLENDUNE Community Centre is celebrating its birthday on March 22 with a special bash.

The centre will be 40 and to celebrate there will be a free open day event from 10am to 4pm.

During the morning the main hall will host the Wroughton Country Market, and from 12.30pm the hall will welcome exhibits from Prospect Hospice, Wroughton Bowls Club, WADAMs, Ellendune Entertainers, Wroughton Parish Council, Vision for Wroughton, Kings Farm Wood, U3A, NADFAS, Trefoil Guild, Poppy Appeal, Compost Buddies and Folk on the Green, Discovery Church and Little Lambs.

From 10am in the Alexandra Room there will be displays by the Wroughton Floral Arts Society and the Wroughton and District Gardeners Society.

In the Christine Spooncer Suite from 10am there will be displays and shows by Wroughton History Group.

During the afternoon there will also be a musical set from Talis Kimberley and band.

At around 2.45pm the anniversary cake, made to look like the Community Centre – big enough to feed 200 people – will be presented and cut.
