SWINDON Town striker Nile Ranger is in trouble with the law yet again after being arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in Liverpool.

The player, who is currently out for the season with injury, is being questioned by Merseyside Police after being accused of damaging a car following an argument with a taxi driver in Liverpool City Centre at about 6am this morning.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Merseyside Police has arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of causing criminal damage following an incident in a taxi this morning.

"The man, from Middlesex, was arrested on suspicion of damaging a taxi during an argument with the taxi driver in Water Street Liverpool city centre at about 6am this morning.

"He has been taken to a police station where he will be questioned by officers."

Last month, Ranger was cleared of rape and is due to stand trial in May at a court in Wales after being charged with drink driving.
