UTC SWINDON will host two more open evenings after bumper attendances at events so far in 2014.

The free open evenings are being hosted at Oxford Brookes University Ferndale Campus, Swindon, SN2 1HL on Thursday this week and Wednesday, April 23 from 6.30pm until 8pm.

An explanation of the curriculum will be provided by principal Angela Barker-Dench and there will be presentations from UTC Swindon staff who will describe the specialist engineering education, the types of engineering careers available and how to apply for places.

Angela said: “The size of attendances and the response we have had at previous open evenings has been remarkable. It is important in the run up to the official opening of UTC Swindon to capitalise on the feedback we have had by putting on two more events.”

UTC Swindon will be run by a Trust sponsored by Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells and Oxford Brookes University. There are over 60 different industry partners involved with the University Technical College.

UTC Swindon will be opening its doors in September and will cater for 600 14 to 19-year-olds interested in pursuing a career in engineering.
