LAST year Top Drawer helped more than 115 families on the council voucher and the emergency assistance schemes.
The charity relies on generous donations from members of the public, and they regularly stock sofas, chairs, tables, wardrobes, coffee tables, chests of drawers, cookers, coffee tables and cookers.
They are most desperate for donations of beds, which are always in short supply.
Top Drawer operates out of a shop and the former church hall in Sussex Square, which is currently packed full of furniture.
Although working primarily to support the town’s most needy, the shop also welcomes customers from low-income individuals and families and the wider general public.
