THE volunteer Centre Swindon has recently become an advisor in the Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard Award process, one of only 25 in the country.
This role enables them to work with local groups or groups within the South West who wish to undertake the standard, which assesses against a range of best practice standards.
Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for all organisations involving volunteers.
Investing in Volunteers aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and for organisations to acknowledge the enormous contribution made by volunteers.
If you want to ensure that your volunteer management structure is adhering to good practice then this is the quality standard for you.
Manager Sue Dunmore said: “We are delighted to be partners in this Quality Standard as we recognise the importance of volunteers. It gives us the chance to work with local organisations in helping them to demonstrate their commitment to volunteering and effective volunteer management.
“This is especially important at a time when more is being asked of the voluntary sector and of volunteers.”
