BRAMBLE House Day Nursery has been rated as good in its first Ofsted inspection, six months after opening in Swindon.

The Techno Trading Estate early years provider was found to be good across the board by inspector Hilary Tierney.

She wrote: “Children are progressing well in all areas of learning and development, because the staff have a good understanding about how children learn. Children have constant access to the outside play spaces, which means they are able to explore, investigate and develop their play both inside and outside.

“The safeguarding requirements are met effectively, which helps to promote children’s wellbeing and safety.

“There are good partnerships with parents, carers and other professionals and regular information is shared between them.”

The nursery fell short of an outstanding rating because children are not full encouraged in developing their independence during meal times.

Bramble House, which has 11 staff, opened last October and has 51 children on roll in the early years age group. There are 23 school-age children also using the nursery.
