TWO former Ministry of Defence aircraft hangars at Wroughton Airfield are going under the hammer at a property auction taking place in London on May 15.
Auctioneer Eddisons will be offering the vacant units as separate lots. Hangar L7 is listed at £325,000 and occupies a 18 acre site while Hanger L6 is listed at £275,000 and spans 8 acres.
The hangars, previously used to home the MoD’s equipment and vehicles, are based at the southern end of the airfield near equestrian facilities and cottages.
Simon Bailey, Eddisons director and auctioneer, said: “The hangars have been used most recently for storage, but may well suit a variety of different uses, subject to planning.
“We sold two cottages on the same airfield in our February auction which both commanded strong interest and given the quirky nature of the hangers we also expect good interest to be shown this time.”
The auction is taking place at The Crowne Plaza and will begin at 12.30pm. Eddisons will also be holding property auctions in Manchester on May 20 and Leeds on May 22.
Mr Bailey said: ‘We have assembled a very strong catalogue incorporating both investment and development opportunities, at a variety of guide prices to suit all budgets.”
