THE Emergency Services Show saw record fundraising last year.

Organisers of the 2013 show presented cheques totalling £26,000 to several charities and organisations that support the work of the ‘blue light services’ or helped at the event.

The show, held every September at Hullavington airfield near Chippenham, is run by a committee of volunteers drawn from Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police, South Western Ambulance Service and the Highways Agency.

The show – now in its ninth year – continues to attract a record number of visitors with an array of emergency service vehicles and demonstrations on display to the public.

The committee paid thanks to John Williams Heating Services Limited of Chippenham for their kind donation and support of last year’s show.

This year the show will be supported by Grist Group Companies but there are still sponsorship opportunities available.

Charities including the Bobby Van Trust, SWIFT Medics, Victim Support, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and RNLI received cheques thanks to last year’s show.

Committee chairman, Chris Harvey, said: “Every year, we say we want the show to be the biggest and best one yet, and 2013 certainly surpassed our expectations.”

Tickets for this year’s show are £6 adults, £3 children (under 3s free) from www.emergencyservicesshow.com.
