A TEENAGER has admitted having a fake Rolex which was stolen during a break in at a house over the Christmas period.

Daniel Latham pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods when he appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court.

The 19-year-old had been accused of taking part in the burglary of the large detached property on Leaze Road, Marlborough.

But after he entered the plea to receiving stolen goods prosecutors said they would not seek a trial on the other charge.

And Judge Tim Mousley QC warned the defendant that he could still be facing a jail term.

Latham, who gave the court an address on Penhill Drive, pleaded guilty to possessing the watch on Tuesday February 18 knowing or suspecting it was stolen.

The teenager had been recalled to serve the unexpired period of an earlier sentence and has a previous conviction for handling, the court was told.

The judge remanded him in custody to Thursday May 29 saying the offence 'crosses the custody threshold'.

The house was broken into between Friday December 20 last year and Thursday January 10 this year.

Numerous items including laptop computers, iPad, jewellery, two TVs, DVD player, Blue Ray player and a TV recorder were taken.

Also stolen was the replica Rolex watch, silver napkin rings and candle holders, two pairs of Oakley sunglasses, kitchen knives and various bottles of alcohol.

Harley Webb, 24, of Croft Road, admitted carrying out the burglary and was sent to Gloucester Crown Court to be sentenced along with other matters there.
