POLICE want to trace a woman dog owner after her pet attacked an 85-year-old man and bit him on the hand.
Police are appealing for witnesses following a dog attack on May 11 at around 11am on Whitbourne Avenue close to the junction with Kingswood Avenue.
The victim was walking along Whitbourne Avenue when he was attacked by a dog who was with a middle-aged woman.
The woman and the dog then left the scene. The dog is described as a brown, Staffordshire bull-terrier type.
The victim then knocked on a nearby house and asked for assistance with his injuries.
He was later taken to the Great Western Hospital where he was treated for two puncture wounds to his hand.
Wiltshire Police are keen to locate the female member of public who assisted the man with his injuries as she might have vital information on this incident.
