STAFF at Great Western Hospital are getting their voices in tune for a special gala concert to raise money for their breast cancer treatment appeal.

At the start of this year a number of hospital staff with a love of singing got together and formed the GWH Choir.

They meet weekly in the evenings at GWH and sing a mixture of contemporary songs and old favourites.

Led by Jules Addison, a Choirmaster and Music Producer from Wiltshire, the GWH choir will be joining four other local choirs from Wiltshire to sing at a special concert on June 28 at St Andrew’s Church in Chippenham.

Money raised from the concert will go towards the hospital’s charity Brighter Futures and its breast cancer treatment appeal. The appeal launched in March, and the charity hopes to raise £75,000 towards funding intra-operative radiotherapy for breast cancer patients.

As well as the GWH Choir, the concert will also feature four local choirs: Southgate House Choir with members of Wiltshire’s Clinical Commissioning Group, Pewsey Belles Ladies Choir, Adlib Vocal Ensemble from Bath and Schola a chamber choir from Devizes.

The hospital’s breast cancer treatment appeal has already soared past the £10,000 mark so it is hoped this concert will help bring them closer to their £75,000 goal.

The concert will take place at St Andrew’s Church in Chippenham from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are £10 in advance or £12 on the door.
