WOOD Street Food Hall has a meaty treat for football fans in time for the World Cup.

TH Burroughs Butchers, which is based in the shop in Wood Street, will be selling a range of sausages to represent a range of nations in the group stages.

Flavours include beef and horseradish for England; pork and smoked paprika for Uruguay; beef, pork, sun blushed tomato and goats cheese for Italy; and Costa Rica style chorizo.

Butcher Marcus Cole said: “It is great to be getting involved in the excitement of the World Cup. We like to be creative with our produce during different events throughout the year. We did different flavour burgers for The Six Nations and that was really popular.”

England fans who enjoy a good meaty string of sausages will have more than one reason to celebrate when England win a match.

Every time England win, Wood Street Food Hall will be giving two England flavour sausages away free when you buy six.

Marcus, who opened Wood Street Food Hall with fishmonger Simon Rhodes nearly a year ago, said: “We will be following the World Cup closely and supporting England all the way.”

The shop sells about 1,200 sausages at its counter in Old Town every week. The hall opens from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday, 9am to 6pm on Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 6pm on Friday, 8am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
