MILITARY team building company Alpha Airsoft launched their new venture with a bout of warfare and tactical SAS training around the grounds of Purton House.

There were dozens of people at the event with the activities allowing participants to use replica guns and fire pellets at other players.

During the event in Purton, ex-SAS soldier Phil Campion, gave the competitors tactical training with organiser Matt Chilton, believing airsoft will grow to rival paintballing.

Matt, originally from Swindon but now lives in Uxbridge, said: “It went very well and we got some great feedback from everyone who took part which is very pleasing as this has been two years of hard work for us.

“I was really proud to see just how happy the people taking part were and being from Swindon it was always my intention to start Alpha Airsoft in my hometown.

“Airsoft is much more sophisticated than paintballing, you can use replica imitation firearms of pretty much any gun you want and the pellets aren’t quite as painful as the paintball bullets.”

After his successful launch, Phil said he wants to continue hosting airsoft events in Swindon and Middlesex.

He said Alpha Airsoft aimed to cater for teambuilding days, stag events and children’s parties.
