The manager of a Bradford ice hockey team has been inspired to raise awareness about prostate cancer by the man who established the sport in the city.

Mark Anderson, who also plays with Bradford Cannibals, said the team was looking for a charity to support when they heard that Granville Raper had been diagnosed with the illness.

Mr Raper helped establish ice hockey in Bradford and has since set it up in Peterborough.

The team’s current jerseys profile Prostate Cancer UK and will be on show when they take to Bradford’s Ice Arena on Saturday.
