WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Swindon.

The incident took place on North Star Roundabout, Great Western Way on Sunday, June 1 at approximately 1.20pm.

A motorcyclist riding a Triumph motorcycle was knocked off his bike by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries. He was subsequently taken to Great Western Hospital.

The vehicle involved in the incident - believed to be a gunmetal grey Volkswagen Touran - failed to stop at the scene and drove off towards the town centre.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
