BARBECUE experts Ed Gash and Emma Millest, better known as Bunch of Swines, are basking in the glory once again this week after yet more success at Grillstock 2014.

It was the third year in a row that the couple, who live in the town centre, have won the Grand Champion award at the Bristol festival, which attracted more than 17,000 meat and music lovers from around the world at the weekend.

As Grand Champions, the pair have won £1,000 in cash and have qualified to compete against the best of the best at the prestigious American Royal World Series of BBQ 'Invitational' in Kansas City later this year.

The competition included four key rounds of chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork that all teams must cook. There are further rounds of dessert, lamb and chef’s choice.

Ed, 31, who sells software for a living, said: “We had another awesome time at Grillstock. We won first place chicken, fifth place with our ribs, second place in the pork category, first place brisket and Grand Champion for the third year in a row.

“We’d like to say massive thanks to our sponsors Big K Products & Big Poppa Smokers for their support with amazing products.

“If anybody missed out on trying our food at Grillstock, and they want a chance to try it for themselves, we do still have tickets available for the 8pm sitting of our pop up at the Regent Hotel.”
