FIFTY new jobs are coming to Peatmoor after customer support group Jaywing beat off stiff competition to win a five-year contract with a national parcel service.

The contact centre, based at Arclite House in Peatmoor, has nailed down the contract with CollectPlus, the largest store based parcel service in the UK.

The new jobs will take total staffing at Jaywing’s base to more than 300 – double the number of 18 months ago.

Jaywing contact managing director Chris Hancock said: “We’re really proud to have been appointed by CollectPlus after beating stiff competition from other outsourced providers.

“This is a great opportunity for the local community, creating 50 new jobs in a rapidly growing company.”

Jaywing will run CollectPlus’s customer support centre. The centre will handle inquiries ranging from general information requests regarding the CollectPlus service from new and existing customers to more complex inquiries.

The firm said all communication will be by phone and email initially, although over time this will be extended to include other contact channels.

CollectPlus operations and service director Mark Lawrence added: “Our aim is always to ensure that we are giving our customers the very best level of service and support that we can, and with a rapid level of growth forecast this year for our three services, we needed a partner who could support us in these ambitions.

“I’m delighted to say we believe Jaywing will play a key role in helping us to achieve them.”

The announcement signals another positive step forward for the firm, which added 50 jobs to its roster last August.

The new roles in that occasion ranged from customer sales and telemarketing to team leaders and account directors.

The company also has an existing apprentice programme with Swindon College, which offers training and full-time employment to six young people from the area for one year.

Jaywing has centres in Sheffield, London, Newbury and Ipswich as well as Swindon.

The group specialises in brand management, digital marketing and customer contact.
