Pair to face trial after denying pub town centre assault charges
TWO men who are accused of assaulting a man outside a town centre pub are to face trial by judge and jury.
Mohammed Ali, 28, pleaded not guilty to grievous bodily harm when he appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court.
Graeme Crowie, also 28, who was not in court as he is out of the country for work, indicated through his solicitor that he denied the charge.
The pair are accused of assaulting William Wookey outside the Sir Daniel Arms pub on Friday, June 14, last year, leaving him with a dislocated shoulder.
Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case until Tuesday, August 12, and released Ali, of Bourne Road, Swindon, and Crowie, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, on bail.
