PARENTS across Swindon are being urged to pop in to Prospect Hospice’s very first children’s shop and unearth bargains for the summer holidays.

The Kids Store on Havelock Street opened in July last year and offers clothing, toys, games and furniture.

While goods are quickly snapped up by regular shoppers, store manager Alison Moore is keen to attract more customers.

“This store is a hidden gem,” she said. “We have been open for nearly a year now and, although we’ve built up a good regular customer base here, we want more of the local community, in particular families with young children, to discover what we have on offer. We think many will be surprised by the quality of what we have on offer here.

“We thrive on donations of items like beds and children’s desks, and we want to encourage people whose children have grown older to think about donating these items to us rather than disposing of them. It’s good for us, good for our customers and good for the environment too.”
