BROWNIES were out in force at the Cotswold Water park on Friday of work towards one of their badges.

About 30 members of the 3rd Royal Wootton Bassett Brownies were at the park to work on their Out And About Badge by taking a walk in an unknown area.

Using a Cotswold Water Park Walks Guide the youngsters had to navigate using landmarks and the information on the map.

Brownie leader Susan Finnegan said: “3rd Royal Wootton Bassett Brownies and their leaders had a great time map reading at Cotswold Water Park, as part of their work towards their Out And About badge.”

Thanks to the guides the Brownies found their way along the paths without getting lost, leading the adults on a lovely circular walk of one of the lakes near the Gateway Information Centre near South Cerney.

The activity was organised by Jill Bewley, of the Cotswold Water Park Trust.

She said: “The 3rd Wootton Bassett Brownies have been visiting the Cotswold Water Park for several years now, and we are always really pleased to help encourage them to explore the area, and to discover different places.”
