Tickets selling fast for music event on the farm

TICKETS are selling fast for a family festival later this month which is returning after a two year break.

Summer Breeze is a two-day event which combines live music with family entertainment. It’s held at Warren Farm, Liddington.

The first event was held in 2007 and in the past has attracted acts such as KT Tunstall and Toploader.

In 2012, when the last festival was held, more than 2,000 people attended but this year organisers have scaled everything back for a more intimate affair.

Andrew Loddington, who has organised every festival, said: “Taking a year off has allowed us to go back to our roots.

“This year the main stage is located behind the farmhouse whereas before it was out in one of the fields.

“This will give it more of a garden party feel than in previous years and offers one of the best views in Wiltshire.”

Summer Breeze is held over two nights so many of those who attend will be bringing their tents and camping for the festival.

Held on July 18 and 19, tickets have been selling fast and there are only a limited number left.

A licensing hearing was held yesterday to ensure the correct conditions were in place and everything was in order ahead of the event.

“There will be musicians coming from all over who are all real quality with loads of experience,” said Andrew.

“The headline act is Brother Strut who are a session band who have played with the likes of Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder.

“They have recently signed a new record contract in the US and Italy and will be on the UK music scene very shortly.

“There is also loads of other stuff on. We have circus entertainers and craft tents so there is plenty for people to do. On top of that, we don’t make any profit from the festival.

“All the money we make goes towards paying for the organisation and then any profit is given to charity.”

In its seven year history, Summer Breeze has become a popular event with people returning regularly. This year they have been promised some regular stalls but also some new ones to give the event a fresher feel.

It will start on Friday evening and then there will be music and activities for all ages throughout Saturday.

Although it is nearly sold out, there are some tickets still available. To purchase any or find out more about the festival visit www.summerbreezefest.co.uk.
