PEOPLE living in Eldene aim to have a bigger say about the area after holding their first community meeting last week.
Around 40 people turned out at the Acorn Centre, including representatives from Swindon Council, the Localities team and Horizon group volunteers.
After a brief introduction, the group divided into four to discuss a number of topics, including events and activities, the community centre, improvements to the area and the centre redevelopment.
Coun Derique Montaut (Lab, Liden, Eldene and Park South), who attended the meeting, said he was pleased the community was coming together to have a say on local issues.
He said: “Where they go from now is up to them but I hope they continue to discuss the local issues and work with us so we can make positive changes.”
