RESIDENTS living in the town centre have an opportunity to discuss the issues that affect them, including the new Regents Circus development and the road and pavement design around it, at a meeting on Thursday, August 7.

The event, in Committee Room 6 at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street, starts at 7pm, although local councillors and council officers will be available from 6.30pm for informal conversations.

It is one of the regular series of Swindon Council Central locality meetings for residents who live in the Central and Eastcott wards.

Coun Dave Wood, the chair of the Central locality, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to meet all their local councillors and have a real say in what happens where they live. There will also be representatives from the police and various council departments.

“Some of the issues, such as the design of the road layout near to the Regents Circus development, residents’ parking reviews, local policing, and changes to the Fire and Rescue service, are clearly of great interest to many people, but we’re happy for any issue to be raised. We really want to know what concerns people and the ideas they have to make their neighbourhood better.”
