STARLIGHT Children’s Foundation is entertaining sick children at the Great Western Hospital with a fun summer show on August 7.
The charity is bringing its new pantomime, Robinson Crusoe, to the children’s unit, for young patients to take a break from treatment, have a few laughs and sing along.
Claire Parks, senior play specialist at Great Western Hospital said: “We know that play can significantly help to improve a child’s hospital stay and Starlight’s Summer Panto gives our young patients a chance to forget their illness for a short while and simply have some fun.”
Starlight is national charity which grants wishes for seriously and terminally-ill children and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK.
Neil Swan, chief executive of Starlight Children’s Foundation, said: “All of Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain and anxiety that they might be feeling and Starlight’s Summer Panto is always hugely popular with hospitals and hospices. We hope this performance will be just what the doctor ordered.”
The pantomime startsat 3pm. For more information on Starlight Children’s Foundation, visit www.starlight.org.uk
