HAIRDRESSER Joshua Goldsworthy has been named as one of the best stylists in the country after reaching the finals at the HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards.

Joshua has already fought off stiff competition from other salons in the South West and Wales to reach the regional finals for the Hairdresser of the Year Award, and now he is preparing for the final in November.

Joshua said: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news. The British Hairdressing Awards is an amazing event to be part of. The standard reaches new levels each year, so to be finalised is an unbelievable achievement, it is such a highlight in my career. I’m looking forward to submitting the second half of my collection and then the evening itself in November, which is always a night to remember.”

Joshua’s salon, Goldsworthy Hairdressing, is based in Swindon and the awards represent the Oscars of the hairdressing industry.

His entry consisted of four photographic images that showcased his talent within their chosen hairdressing speciality.

Judged anonymously and independently by iconic industry names, Joshua will now submit a further four images to create a collection of eight that are again judged to reveal the definitive winners.

It is not the first time Joshua has been in the running for an award, recognising his talent and achievement, and last month he was named as one of Britain’s brightest young talents aged 30 or under after reaching the finals of a national hairdressing competition.

A celebrity compere will host the finals in November at The Grosvenor House.
