AS another weekend beckons we bring you the second in our new regular weekly slot giving you 10 things to do in and around Swindon.

10 THINGS TO DO AROUND SWINDON THIS WEEKEND...

• Tortworth Vintage Transport Show, August 9 and 10, at the showground off the B4509, Wickwar, South Gloucestershire. There wil be steam engines, displays, farm tractors, fairground, military vehicles, vintage and classic cars, period caravans and more. For more information visit www.shakespearesrally.com. 

• Swindon & Cricklade Railway is holding a Vintage & Real Ale event this weekend. Subject to weather conditions etc, there will hopefully be a Spitfire and Hurricane flypast around 1525 on Saturday, and a Dakota flypast on Sunday around 1.55pm. Admission is £9 for adults, Seniors £8, Children £6.

Swindon Advertiser: Last year’s Swindon Pride parade

• Swindon and Wiltshire Pride 2014, with headline act Marcus Collins from The X Factor, in the Town Gardens. Parade starts at 11.15am on Saturday.

• Great War Street Party, at Wharf Green, on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm. There will be lots for the whole family to take part in.

• The Swindon Shuffle Unsigned Music Festival, August 7 to 10, at venues including The Victoria, The Beehive, The Rolleston, The Castle, Piri Piri and Swindon Central Library. Visit www.swindonshuffle.org.uk.

• Bloktor Who – the next Wiltshire Roller Derby bout takes on a Doctor Who theme, at the Oasis on Sunday, from 1pm. Dancers from Kitty Langan Studio will provide the half time entertainment, and there will be a raffle, cakes, stalls and more.

• Swindon Town play Scunthorpe on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3pm as Mark Cooper's young side are put to the test in their first game of the new League One season.

• Industry to Art Exhibition at STEAM, a free exhibition of cast iron sculptures. It is open from 10am until 5pm until Sunday.

• The Very Hungry Caterpillar at Roves Farm on Saturday. Jump on the tractor rides and follow the story of the Hungry Caterpillar and learn about the life-cycle of a butterfly along the way.

• Live music at 20 at the Kings, Wood Street, from 8pm to 10pm on Sunday.
