WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Highworth on Wednesday.

The incident took place on the B4019 Cricklade Road at the junction with A361 at 1.15pm.

A white Suzuki Alto was in collision with two pedestrians.

As a result of the collision, a 77-year-old woman was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. She remains in a stable condition.

The second pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, was uninjured.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22- year-old man, was also uninjured.

As a result of the collision, the road was closed for three hours whilst collision investigators conducted their inquiries.
