A PENSIONER drove into a 20-year-old man at Swindon Designer Outlet on Monday and broke his leg.

Shortly after 3pm, a silver Kia Rio, driven by an 84-year-old woman, hit a male and female pedestrian.

Customers at the scene said security guards from the outlet village were letting shoppers leave the car park for free due to the damage caused to the ticket machines on-site.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “Wiltshire Police were called to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision in the North car park of the McArthur Glen Great Western Designer Outlet Village shortly after 3.10pmon Monday.

“The 20-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon with a suspected broken leg.

“The female pedestrian had minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

“The driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old woman from Swindon, has been reported for careless driving.”
