10 THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND SWINDON THIS WEEKEND

1. Wedding show at the Marriott Hotel on Sunday, from 11am until 3pm with a fashion show at 2pm. For more information call 01793 512121.

2. Swindon Farmers Market will be at the Outlet Village from 10am until 4pm on Sunday. Each week there are around 20 stalls to browse. For more information call 01793 507600.

3. A silent auction will be held at St Bartholomew's Church Hall in Royal Wootton Bassett on Satuday from 7pm. The money raised will go towards the Jubilee Garden Project. 

4. Car boot sale on Sunday morning from 9.30am at Pinetrees Community Centre in Pinehurst

5. A charity concert by The Les Bruce Big Band takes place at Ellendune Hall in Wroughton on Saturday. Tickets are £8, while children under 16 go free when accompanied by an adult. For more information call  01793 466129.

6. Purton will host its first Scarecrow Trail throughout the village this weekend from 10am both days. The theme is nursery rhymes and fairy tales and is for all ages. It costs £1.50 to take part. 

7. Spitfire and Roman Roads, a challenging 30 mile cycle ride, sets off from the Haydon Centre at 10am on Sunday. All ages are welcome. Places are limited. To register visit www.goskyride.com/swindon.

8. The Phoenix Players present Oh! What a Lovely War at the Arts Centre on Saturday from 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, or £9 for concessions. Call 01793 614837.

9. Miccoli, the family rock trio, will perform at the Brunel Shopping Centre this weekend from 9.30am to 11am as part of a 12 week nationwide tour, raising awareness of the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young. Call 01793 525857 for more information.

10. The Entertainer will open a new store in Swindon at the Brunel Shopping Centre on Saturday, with the red Power Ranger on hand to meet and greet youngsters. Local children supported by Hop,Skip and Jump will also take part in a special trolley dash.
