POLICE are appealing for witnesses after cars were damaged during a spate of criminal damage in Stratton in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Several cars had their wing mirrors kicked off while parked in streets around Meadowcroft.

Shortly after 12.30am, two men and two girls were seen getting out of a taxi in Addison Crescent.

The men proceeded to kick the mirrors away from the row of vehicles.

Three cars were damaged in Addison Crescent and Atlee Cres-cent, including a Citroen Xsara, Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Astra, before the group left the area.

Police are investigating the incident and have conducted extensive house-to-house enquiries.

CCTV footage in the area is now being examined and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and assist with their investigation.

The two males involved are thought to be between the ages of 18 and 20, white, and wearing dark clothing at the time.

The girls accompanying them are thought to be younger but were not involved in any criminal damage. Police would like to speak to them as part of their enquiries.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “The incident took place between 12.30am and 12.40am on the morning of Sunday, September 28.

“Two males and two females were seen getting out of a taxi in Addison Crescent, and the two males have gone on to damage three cars that were parked on the road.

“The cars, a Citroen Xsara, Ford Mondeo, and Vauxhall Astra, all had wing mirrors kicked off.

“The males are described as being white, aged between 18 and 20 and both wearing dark clothing.

“The females appeared younger but are not suspected of causing any damage. We have done a lot of house-to-house enquiries already in relation to this incident and are currently reviewing the CCTV in the area.”
